Ivy Wong

Ivy Wong is a seasoned corporate Partner qualified in multiple commonwealth jurisdictions. She is based in Hong Kong and has been a Partner of one of the largest international law firms where she has served as a regional committee chair and global steering committee member for her practice. Ivy has a diverse and balanced mix of practices and transactional work experience in corporate finance, merger & acquisition, general corporate and compliance work. She has led many unprecedented and high-profile cross-border transactions and completed multiple landmark and innovative deals that won industry awards. 

Ivy was shortlisted for Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards for consecutive years and is named one of the leading law practitioners in Hong Kong. She has been quoted and interviewed by international media and journals including Bloomberg, CNBC, The Economist, Reuters and The Wall Street Journal. Ivy is one of the panel judges for the Hong Kong Corporate Governance and ESG Excellence Awards co-conferred by the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies, and she also serves as a Vice Chair of the Social Sustainability Committee of The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Specialising in corporate and transactional work, Ivy has extensive expertise in handling international clients and resolving issues arising from different regulatory regimes. Her clients include many reputable fund houses, financial institutions, multinational corporates and conglomerates. Her primary practice focus is on cross-border corporate work, capital markets, corporate finance, merger and acquisition, investment and restructuring, compliance and general commercial work. She is highly experienced in communicating with regulators, providing solutions that meet both regulatory and commercial needs, and advising board members and senior management in their corporate planning and transactions. With a track record serving a wide range of industry sectors, multiple of her recent transactions include those in healthcare, biotech and life sciences sectors.

Ivy has completed a secondment to a major European investment bank as a senior member of its legal team covering equity and debt capital markets work. She has studied and lived in Hong Kong, Canada and the UK, with Master of Laws degree from London School of Economics and Political Science, Bachelor or Laws degree and Postgraduate Certificate of Laws from University of Hong Kong, and Bachelor of Commerce from University of British Columbia.
